Bangladesh Has Nearly 6 Crore Mobile Subscribers E-mail

 July 21, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): Six mobile phone operators of Bangladesh added 13.29 million new cell phone subscribers during July 2009-June 2010 and the total number of mobile users in the country reached to 59.98 million.

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission released their data on Tuesday, showed that the number of active users of mobile phones rose to 59.98 million on 30 June this year from 46.29 million on 30 June last year. The six operators added 1.52 million new subscribers in June this year.
The largest mobile phone operator, Grameenphone has added 5.3 million subscribers in this financial year, while only on June they have added 0.91 million consumers to take its total subscriber base to 26.46 million and become the top cell phone operator in Bangladesh.
Banglalink becomes the second biggest mobile operator with 16.10 million subscribers. They have added 5.06 million consumers last year and on June Banglalink attracted 0.51 million subscribers.
Banglalink is trailed by Robi, previously known as Aktel has 11.10 million at the end of June. All together it has added 2.25 million subscribers in one year and 0.14 million subscribers in June.
The other two private cell phone operators, Warid Telecom & City Cell have 3.17 million & 1.99 million subscribes. Warid Telecom, which has recently acquired by India’s Bharati Airtel has added 0.59 million subscribers during July 2009-June 2010. On the other hand the lone CDMA mobile operator City Cell added only 0.03 million subscribers this year.
The state-run mobile operator has only 1.16 million subscribers and added 0.06 million subscribers in last financial year.
