July 30, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): Law minister Shafique Ahmed has said that secularism will be reinstated in the constitution in line with the Supreme Court's ruling.

He also said that, “People were inspired to join the liberation war to establish non-communal society and secularism was the main pillar of the four State principles.”
The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the biennial conference of the Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee at the Dhakeswari National Temple and claimed that the pledge of secularism has already been established in the constitution through the Supreme Court verdict.
Barrister Shafique assured that the government would consider formation of the Hindu Foundation for welfare of the Hindus, amendment to vested Property Act and implementation of the judgment scrapping of Enemy Property Act.
Suranjit Sengupta, the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on law ministry, had earlier inaugurated the conference.
Among others Prof Dr Lalit Mohan Nath, Taposh Kumar Pal, Biresh Chandra Saha, Babul Devnath, Mahanagar Puja Committee president Kajol Devnath also present on the occasion.
