Aug 09,  Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com):  The High Court on Monday granted interim bail to BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Rafiqul Islam Mia and vice chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain.

The High Court granted interim bail to BNP standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia and vice chairman Shah Moazzem bail in nine cases related to threatening prime minister Sheikh Hasina with dire consequences. The bench of justices Syed Mohammad Dastgir Hossain and A K M Zahirul Haque ordered that the bail will be effective until the charge-framing in eight cases and submission of police report in one case are done and the court asked the government to explain why the duo would not be given permanent bail.
The same High Court granted ad interim anticipatory bail to BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed in a sedition case. On August 8, a sedition cases was filed with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Khulna against BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Jamaat leader Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.
The sedition case was filed alleging that the security of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members, state, government and people might be endangered due to the provocative speech given by Dr Taher at a discussion at National Press Club on August 4 in presence of Barrister Moudud.
