Aug 16, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.Com): To compliance with the government order, all the CNG filling stations across the country except Sylhet remained closed for six hours on Monday from 3pm to 9pm.

The government on August 12 took its decision that all the CNG refueling stations would have to be closed 6 hours a day from 3pm to 9pm to facilitate increased gas supply to household consumers and power stations.
However the owners of the CNG stations held a meeting today with the Titas Gas Company authority to discuss the overall situation and also convey their reaction over the government order. In the meeting they informed the Titas Officials that they have accepted the government order and will comply with it for a temporary period only for the month of holy Ramadan considering the public conveniences and its not acceptable after the month of Ramadan.
The CNG station owners also threatened to go for tougher movement if the government continues its decision regarding the pump closure even after Ramadan.
According to energy ministry, such move would save nearly 40 million cubic feet of gas a day, which could be used to increase power generation up to around 200 megawatt.
