| Home Minister Sahara On Campus Violence : "These Things Can Happen Anytime" |

Home affairs minister Sahara Khatun on Thursday said about the most recent spate of violence on Dhaka University campus by Bangladesh Chhatra League “isolated incident”. Home minister also mentioned “These things can happen, It may take place anytime”. During the press conference Home Minister Sahara Khatun said, “‘These are stray incidents….Such incidents might take place anytime. What is important is what action we are taking against the troublemakers.”
Following a meeting with the law minister and foreign minister, the home minister was questioned by reporters about the campus law and order situation in the wake of the student death at DU and the reported role of BCL on countrywide campuses in admission of students. Sahara replied: "These are no matter. What is important is what the government is doing, what steps we are taking." Then she was asked about those steps and she replied “The measures generally taken against criminals are being taken. Whatever it be—tender terror, extortion or the admissions trade—tough steps are being taken”
