Shab-e-Baraat Will Be Observed On July 17, 2011 E-mail

 Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): The holy Shab-e-Barat, or the night of divine blessings for the Muslims, will be observed on the night of July 17, 2011.

Shab-e-Baraat or Laylatul Bara'ah, the night of reverence and fervor would be observed on Sunday, 17th July this year. The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting on Saturday even though sighting of the new moon of the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar–Sha'ban-could not be confirmed by any means.
 For this year the Laylatul Bara'ah will be observed with special prayers for the solidarity of the country.To mark the holy night, Muslims across the country illuminate mosques and houses and pray Allah Almighty to remove their worries and shower His blessings on Muslim Ummah. Muslims stay awake on the night of Shab-e-Barat and ask for forgiveness for the past year mistakes and pray for good fortune the entire night. Some people also go to mosques for prayers and meditation while other fast during the day and offer ‘nawafil’, at night.
The print as well as electronic media will present different programmes highlighting the history and importance of this holy night. According to the religious teachings ,”It is night of accountability for all the Muslims and their performance of last one year in the light of the teachings of Holy Quran and Sunnah is reviewed”.
The prayers during this night carry great importance and value for the Muslims to renew their pledge to lead lives in accordance with the Holy teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
Nawafil for Shab-e-Baraat
Read 6 rakaat Nafl prayer (2+2+2), after Magrib. After every two rakaats read Surah Yaseen once. This special prayer, by the blessing of Allah Almighty, will give you a healthy and prosperous life for the whole year.
Read 12 rakaat nafl prayer, in each rakaat read:
Surah Fatiha (Alhamdo) : once,
Surah Iklas: 10 times.
Afterwards read:
3rd Kalima : 10 times
4th Kalima : 10 times
Darood Sharif : 100 times
Read 8 rakaat nafl prayer with one salaam. In each rakaat read
Surah Fatiha (Alhamdo) : once,
Surah Iklas: 11 times.
Read this dua : "Allahumma inni al-aloka afwa wal afiyata wal muafatad-daimata fid dunya wal akhirah".
Read 100 rakaat naflt prayer reciting in each rakaat reciting :
Surah Fatiha (Alhamdo) : once,
Surah Iklas: 10 times.


Latest: The government has shifted the public holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat to July 18 instead of July 17.  The public administration ministry on Monday in a circular rescheduled the holiday.

On a press release it siad, "As per the July 2 decision of the National Moon Sighting Committee, Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night ofJuly 17. So the holiday will be on July 18 instead of July 17," The holiday announcement, however, will not be applicable to the organisations run by their own rules and to those where the presence of the staff is a must, the circular says."Such offices and organisations will announce the holiday taking into consideration public interest," the ministry said.
