Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): The holy Shab-e-Barat, or the night of divine blessings for the Muslims, will be observed on the night of July 17, 2011. Shab-e-Baraat or Laylatul Bara'ah, the night of reverence and fervor would be observed on Sunday, 17th July this year. The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting on Saturday even though sighting of the new moon of the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar–Sha'ban-could not be confirmed by any means.
On a press release it siad, "As per the July 2 decision of the National Moon Sighting Committee, Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night ofJuly 17. So the holiday will be on July 18 instead of July 17," The holiday announcement, however, will not be applicable to the organisations run by their own rules and to those where the presence of the staff is a must, the circular says."Such offices and organisations will announce the holiday taking into consideration public interest," the ministry said.
