Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): Although the Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh signed a series of agreements in Dhaka on Tuesday, but failed to resolve the long-standing and most anticipated deal on sharing of Teesta and Feni river waters, which cast a long shadows on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's maiden visit in Bangladesh. The supposed 'historic visit' of the Indian prime minister seems to have turned into a 'goodwill visit' as it failed to resolve their main disputes, over transit rights for India and the sharing of river waters. The two countries ended the summit with eight memorandums of understanding and one protocol on Tuesday. The two heads of government signed a regional framework agreement. All that Bangladesh has managed to get in the bargain is duty- and quota-free market access to 46 readymade garment-related products and signing of a protocol on land boundary agreement.
