Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.Com): The International Crimes Tribunal has returned the formal charges filed against former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam to the prosecution.

ICT returned the charges  to the prosecution as the charges were not submitted in a proper way and ordered prosecution to submit it again on January  5 next year.
The tribunal said the formal charges submitted by the prosecution in a scattered way and were not properly organised.
Earlier on December 12 last, formal charges of ‘crime against humanity’ were submitted against Ghulam Azam for his role during the Liberation War. A total of 52 allegations were complied in the charge book against Azam, who was Ameer of the erstwhile East Pakistan chapter of the Islamic party that sided with the Pakistan government during the liberation war.
The charges pressed by the prosecution on the day also held Ghulam Azam responsible for all atrocities committed across the country between March 25 and December 16, 1971.
