Assam Planning to Push In So Called “D-VOTERS” In Bangladesh E-mail

Dhaka, Bangladesh (Tazakhobor.com): Some 2.75 lakh Bengali-speaking Indian nationals, particularly Muslims, who are already indentified as so called “D-VOTERS” are in threat to be pushed into Bangladesh territory any time.

Citizens’ Right Preservation Committee (CRPC) of Assam which is fighting for the cause of Bengali speaking people, recently organized a National Convention in Delhi’s Constitutional Club to highlight the difficulties to the people. In the convention speakers informed audience that, in Assam any person calls a person as ‘doubtful’ and on this basis government officials put him in the list of ‘D’ i.e. doubtful voters and deprive him of his voting rights.
General Secretary of ‘Citizen Rights Protection Committee’ Sadhan Purakayastha also informed press that , “Some of the accused were pushed into Bangladesh territory in the name of ‘push back’ after trial, which is alarming for the country’s human rights condition.”  The opposition leader of Assam Aminul Islam said: “The minorities are being harassed terming them expatriates.” He also added “The detained people are kept in jails for years without any justice.” And later pushed into Bangladesh territory
The list of the 2, 74, 979 Bengali-speaking Indian nationals, who have been residing there for decades are now under trial in 36 special Tribunal around Assam to take charges brought against them into cognizance. Authority said, arrest warrants will also be issued later on are about to be pushed into Bangladesh territory.
However, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) urged the Election Commission (EC) of India to take immediate and necessary steps to delete the names of foreigners from the voters’ list.
Dhaka had conveyed its concern through diplomatic channels both here and in New Delhi asking the Indian authorities to stop such ‘unfortunate’` push-in attempts saying that these were "contrary to recognized international conventions."
