Elderly Journalist Foyez Ahmed Died

Elderly journalist and litterateur Foyez Ahmed died this morning. He was 88.

Foyez Ahmed, writer and frontline cultural activist Foyez Ahmed died this morning after after he was taken to BIRDEM hospital in the city. He was admitted to the hospital early Monday after he felt sick, but But doctors declared him dead at 5 am.
His body was taken to Shilpangan Art Gallery in Dhanmondi, which he founded, after 9am. The body would be taken to Aparajeo Bangla at Dhaka University from Dhanmondi and then will be taken to the National Press Club around 11 am and then around 1pm to the headquarters of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB).
As per his wish, his eyes would be donated to voluntary organisation Sandhani and the body to Bangladesh Medical College.
He was awarded Ekushey Padak (1991), Bangla Academy Padak, Shishu Academy Award for his journalistic excellence and contribution to the society and literature.
