PM Hasina Launches Online Version of Al-Quran Print E-mail

PM launches digital version of Al-QuranTerming Islam a religion of peace, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday urges all to understand its inherent knowledge and proper utilisation of the messages of the scripture for welfare of the humanity.

The Prime Minister said this while launching the website Al Quran: Digital at a function at Osmani Memorial auditorium here today.

During her speech she said, The Quran is very much a scientific book, as well its a guideline for our personal, family and social life. It preaches message for peoples right, justice, equality, brotherhood, religious fraternity and harmony, she said.
She expressed gratitude to the Almighty for having the opportunity to inaugurate the digital version of the Quran in the month of holy Ramadan, also the month of the advent of the holy book.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Shahjahan Mia presided over the function while Secretary of the Religious Affairs Ministry Qazi Habibul Awal spoke, among others. Khatib of Baitil Mokarram National Mosque Moulana Mohammad Salauddin conducted the prayer.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, the Quran has been digitised in course of implementation of her governments electoral commitment to build a Digital Bangladesh.
It will help people read the sacred writings in Bengali and English side by side in original Arabic language to understand people its intrinsic meanings, she said adding Its indeed a milestone for publicity and promotion of the holy book.
Sheikh Hasina said, her government is striving to reach the message of peace of Islam to people. The digitisation of Quran and its website will make it easy to reach the immortal messages of the Almighty to people of all classes, she hoped.
