No compromise with govt: MK AnwarBNP standing committee member MK Anwar said, BNP will not compromise with the government on its demand for non-party caretaker government to oversee the next national election. speking in a discussion at the National Press Club, MK Anwar said, “The election must be held under a non-party government. He also added, we won’t compromise with the government accepting its small cabinet formula.”

He said the Prime Minister came up with the small cabinet formula just to create confusion in public mind. “It’s not possible to see a credible and peaceful election under Awami League government. No election in the past was peaceful under Awami League as the party doesn’t believe in democracy,” the former minister said. The program was arrenged by Deshnetri Forum, a pro-BNP platform. Its adviser Ataur Rahman Ata was in the chair. Fomer Chatro Dal leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, MP, Jubo Dal President adv Syed Moazzem Hossain Chowdhury Alal and Helen Zarin Khan, among others, took part in the discussion.

MK Anwar said BNP did not step back from its demand of non-party caretaker government and will continue their movement until the demand is met. “The non-party caretaker government has now turned into a mass people’s demand,” he said urging all get united to force the government to accept it. The BNP leader alleged that the ministers and MPs were supposed to give their wealth statements every year but they did not do that. “They don’t have courage to disclose their incomes as they have amassed huge money through corruption.” He also criticised the Prime Minister for branding ‘corrupt’ Minister Syed Abul Hossain as a patriot. “Those who indulged in corruption will be brought to justice and be punished if BNP returns to power.”
